Main business of Surendranagar city is cotton. It is located between Ahmedabad and Rajkot. It has 10 taluka (Wadhwan, Muli, Limbdi, Sayla, Chotila, Halvad, Dhrangdhra, Lakhtar, Chuda, Dasada ). Wadhwan, Jorawarnagar, Ratanpar and Dhudhrej are near by city, town & village. Wadhwan is one of the historical city where old historical rankdevi temple is located. Some of the unheard of, languishing crafts of Gujarat like tangaliya of Surendranagar have been specially chosen for the purpose of providing revival to it. NIFT Gandhinagar has initiated the mobilization of artisans for the purpose of development of craft based articles which are contemporary in nature The products developed under SGSY scheme in Surendranagar includes use of crafts such as single ikat, tangalia khadi, brassware and stone ware NIFT, Gandhinagar plans to entice all the facets which will augment to the income of the craftsmen and provide him a sustained means of livelihood through the revival of his ancestral Craft. RDEC The Rural Development Enterprise centre is the nodal points for business development in the cluster, based at Surendranagar it will, perform the following functions. As the dynamics of the project evolve we may add on or change functions.
SRTSC With a view implement the project at the grass root level there are 3 Shared Resources and Technology Support Centers that have been planned one at Joravarnagar, Limdi, and Somasar the following functions have been envisaged for them for the moment as the dynamics of the project evolves more functions may add to the list
